The appearance is deceiving. In fact, in most cases what you see is what you get.

It is a facade. It's like the Wild West from your imagination. It's not your fault at all.

Many smart people (a lot) has put time and effort to pull on you.

Think of something that looks easy for a few minutes with me.

The Mall.

For you and me is a place where you can buy trendy shoes off, try the torn jeans and the latest modelAffliction T-shirt all within 300 steps of a portion of the area where food hamburger cooked, tasteless, and oversized pizza slices Subs shares the site with less than tray full of authentic Chinese food is offered free on a toothpick.

For the woman in our lives is a haven of offers, style, perfectly in tune retail square footage.

But it is actually a huge "motor force" at work. All the tricks in Las Vegas, which without the colored lights and dancersPeacock-feathered caps.

Have you ever wondered why:

1. Seem to lose time in the mall and wonder, "where the time went on," when you exit.
2. Your feet get in the way on foot, but fatigue more in stores.
3. You have to be frustrated by the whole mall to walk on the "big box" store.
4. Sometimes strange to lose in the store layout and the need to control the cards.
5. Do you think the bathrooms are located in all the evilPlaces.

Guess what? Their suspicions are right.

It seems misleading.

A simple thing like a shopping mall is carefully prepared for your senses in a warm and friendly look manipulate. Really – was built to squeeze every last penny from you.

Did you know?

1. Oxygen is reduced to the mall smells of humidity that could warn that a storm on the road (causing you leave early) is pumped in as. The lighting is carefully monitored to buymore.
2. Walking surfaces specifically for tire your feet when you're not in business long enough to do. And there are too few chairs, then chances are likely that you will not be able to sit down.
3. Larger shops are aimed at opposite ends of the mall, so go over all the other stores where you really want to get laid.
4. There are very few right angles. sloping corridors and turn instead to the procession. Escalators up and downseem too far apart.
5. Architects city baths in places like the food court where you Chotchki and from "low resistance" shots like candy distributors lose another "as seen on TV."

It may seem passive but in reality is a lot of manipulation engine designed based on years of experience fool buyers into spending more than they would normally.

What you see (what you see or not) the impact of the decisions you think you areSo innocent.
So What?

If a stupid retail culture can be manipulated to "be" something radically different from what appears to be thinking about what else in your environment may not be exactly what it seems.

How it all.

"Very little in life really turns out to be exactly as it appears in our mind …"

This is not because you or your insights bad "gut feeling" switches need a tune-up. We are just disappointed.

It's not just the mall. It isthe "conventional wisdom" that is somehow reflected in our brains deceive us:

* The fact that the guy with the promotion could be more than happy …
* The first trick to get a bit 'faster means "will be useful to the end" …
* Running from your work, a new job means that help to prevent the same problems …
* The fact that your lack of extreme stress is truly a "work better" …
* The fact that messages marked you feel is the truth …
* That the apologyis your customer, you are the real reason behind does not close, that …

'It's always what seems to be … again! ": Here's a general rule of life, feel or personal motivation is

That's right. Look lie. Intentions and motivations can be difficult.

E ', a heritage which the baby.

I do not think about this and I did not start this "The Sky is Falling" sermon. Very wise men left their lonely old sayings write down the mountain to come and tell us that"The grass is not greener on the other side." It 's something to forget what we did.

In the age of messages at a rate of Twitter, we sometimes forget that (in reality), it is always what is not.

We forget that life is a bit 'more complex than simple black and white buildings, based on the things we place as

Life is a million gray.

And depending on who tells you the story, one would assume that it is always what is not.
